House of Worship is thrilled to support a variety of missionaries and international organizations that are working hard to help people all over the world. At HOW, we believe in impacting our society. Here is a summary of the different individuals and organizations we can support financially with your help:
Fiifi & Sybil Pentsil - Better Life Today
Better Life Today is an outreach ministry that does a little bit of everything to help people reach their fullest potential. We conduct seminars and conferences with a focus on leadership, marriage and spiritual development. We also work in healthcare, conducting medical missions, finding medical supplies for health centers in West Africa, and helping people understand their diagnoses and providing support. We work in the US, Africa, Europe and anywhere that needs arise and we have the ability to go and be a blessing. www.betterlife2day.org
Salem Orphanage and Medical Outreach – Nigeria
The medical centre was birthed consequent to the dire needs of the communities especially in the northern part of Nigeria. We started the medical centre from a small hut with very basic medical equipment and furniture. With the completion of this present facility which is a precursor to the vision of a full fledged teaching / referral hospital, the needs are even more challenging. Presently the medical centre apart from its clinical-surgical and maternity services is embarking on diagnostics and has begun the process of installing dialysis machines. As priority we need hospital furniture, diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines, ultra -sound equipment and consumables for the laboratory such as sero diagnostic strips and dipsticks. We do urgently need a mobile clinic / ambulance to facilitate our visits to the mission fields. SOMO is an outreach ministry of Throneroom (Trust) Ministry [Rev. Ernest & Lisa Ehabe, Bread for Life – Cameroon For several years, Ernest headquartered his African aid organization, Bread For Life, in Kerrville, Texas. But a couple of years ago, he moved back to his native Cameroon. Since then, Ernest has established a medical clinic and a school. He has preached the Gospel on college campuses and city street corners. And he has helped forgotten forest tribesmen build new lives. Along the way, he converted thieves and prostitutes to Christ and helped them learn how to make an honest living. His self-help programs lifted people from grinding poverty. And by changing both the hearts and habits of his countrymen, he waged war against an AIDS epidemic that is destroying a whole generation of Africans. www.breadforlife.org
Bogdan & Bozena Jachym – Poland
Bogdan & Bozena are pastors of a church in a suburb of Warsaw, Poland. It started with an invitation from a group of young Christian couples in Poland to be their Bible teachers. They now teach them regularly. They accepted this invitation as God’s call to pass on what He has taught them during so many years of their walk with Him. “It is a great joy for us to see young people who are eager to learn from God’s Word. It is also a great joy to see old ones who are ready to be with the Lord.” Every week Bogdan meets with older people for prayer and Bible Study. One of our sisters in Christ is 86 years old. She became a believer in Christ as her Savior only a few years ago. For the last two years she was near to death three times and each time after prayer and anointing her with oil God restored her health. Her prayers express her unshakable hope for eternal life with Christ. Her example is very encouraging to people in their church. It is small ministries like the Jachym’s that are making a difference in Poland, where many are yet to hear and receive the gospel message. Together, we can help them make that life-changing difference for others.
By Grace Centre - Kenya
By Grace Disabled and Orphans Centre is based in the Kenyan capital city of Nairobi. The Centre is surrounded by numerous slum dwellings, which include Soweto , Kwa Ngurue, Kibarage, Mworoto, Matopeni and Humama. These areas are characterized by inadequate infrastructure, squalid housing structures, abject poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, acute HIV/AIDS prevalence, disease, crime, and family violence. The hardest hit and affected by these conditions are the children, especially those orphaned through HIV/AIDS and crime. The Centre takes care of children who have been orphaned by providing free education, accommodation, food, clothing, healthcare, individual skills enhancement and spiritual support to the children. Counseling is an integral aspect of the services provided at the Centre, especially to traumatized children whose parents have succumbed to HIV/AIDS, or who have a history of physical and/or sexual abuse. Sonya Atkinson is the US rep of By Grace www.bygracecentre.org
RosePep House – Ghana RosePep House is a home that caters to the needs of individuals suffering from the effects of mental illness. The home gives its members opportunities to learn skills and contribute to a community, and helps interested members seek short-term employment opportunities. Most importantly, it helps members find a place they can belong to, something which many people with mental illness seek for unsuccessfully, because of the stigma mental illness carries in many societies. RosePep House is affiliated with International Center for Clubhouse Development www.iccd.org, and will open its doors in 2011.
